Mannheim Middle School has a large selection of after school activities offered. With a large playground, wall ball court, two gymnasiums, tennis courts, a bowling alley, softball and baseball fields, a football field surrounded by a tartan track field, and a soccer field- all located on or next to the school campus- the school has ample resources to provide a wide range of intramural and school sport opportunities.

• National Junior Honor Society-NJHS is a national organization recognizing outstanding students based on academics, citizenship and leadership. Open only to 7th & 8th graders selected by teachers and administrators.  It meets every 2nd and 4th Tuesday until 4:03.
  

• Advanced/ Beginner Band- performs at concerts.

• Student Council- Student representatives and alternates are selected in their Home Base classes.  Officers are selected in a school-wide election among the student body. It meets the second and fourth Thursday 4:00 in Room 224.
  

• German American Friendship Club- 

  The MMS German-American Friendship Club was created in 2001 by E W, the current German teacher at MMS. Its purpose is to foster German-American friendship and to enhance and nurture good international relations with the host nation. Among its goals are a positive host nation experience for the students at MMS, bridging the language and cultural barrier, and above all getting the American students off post by means of organized field study trips, many of which are mutual outings with host nation school exchange classes. In spite of the stringent security measures, MMS currently has three (3) very successful host nation school partnerships and this is not only an integral part of the SHCP (School Home Community Partnership) program, but consistently achieves  the CSP (Community Strategic Plan) goal #4 Network of Partnerships Supporting Achievement. 

  The German-American Partnership affects all students at MMS in some way, for all 6^th graders participate in Exploring German class and are subsequently promoted to 7^th and 8^th grade. The students involved directly in the German-American Partnership (those enrolled in German 1 and German 2 classes) score approximately 10 percentage points higher on Terra Nova standardized tests, and can be categorized at approximately 3 grade levels higher than the rest of the school population. The partnership has also fostered special interest in the foreign language program at MMS because the students know that they get to have German partners, visit German schools, participate in cooperative field study trips, etc. Therefore, due to the partnership, the participating students are highly motivated and strive to learn more. Consequently they earn higher marks, which reaches the CSP goal #1: Highest Student Achievement.

• Drama Club- The Drama Club is an after school activity and is open to all grade levels.  The purpose of the club is to guide students through various means of drama participation which provide fun and success and to help students gain a love of and appreciation for drama.  Participation on some or all of the following programs is likely:  Red Ribbon Week, the Martin Luther King recognition program, Awards Assemblies, the Christmas program, and the Black History Month program.  General meetings will be on the first and third Fridays of the month.  The sponsor is Mrs. G.  Meeting time is from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. unless practicing for a program.  At those times we may possibly practice until 5:00 p.m.  Notes about practice will always be sent home a few days before the scheduled practice.
  

• Math Counts-MATHCOUNTS is a math contest open to grades 6-8. Practice is after school on Tuesdays in the fall from 3:00 to 5:00, and every day after school from January until the 4 member team competes.

• Art Club meets every Tuesday from 3:00 until 4:00 or, with written parental permission, 4:30.

• Yearbook Club meets as needed.
